Born in Bucharest in 2000, Nichita works in oil paint and in sound. Working in oil, his paintings deal with emotional states that accumulate over time, feelings that are not quite owned by the person who carries them, but that take on their own weight and form. The work moves through personal history, including experiences of shame and suppressed memory, treating oil paint as a medium for excavation rather than expression.
